represent the face of American leadership in AIDS research is noteworthy. |

The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan, a 1970s cartoon mystery series featuring
the voice of Keye Luke, managed to caricature Asian Americans without distorting
their characters. It sympathetically portrayed a large Chinese-American family as central
protagonists in a multicultural America, without problematizing their race or invoking
tired ethnic stereotypes. Unfortunately, it is rarely seen in syndication. |
